Wax crayon

Using a wax pencil, a crayon, a lithographic pencil, an oil pastel or any other drawing tool, as long as it is anti-acid, one can make a drawing on the plate beforehand prepared with an aquatint (with bitumen, resin, colophony or varnish spray). The signes and traces are biten into the metal by low percentage of acid. At the end of the biting and at the plate cleaned up, the signes will be shiny and slightly widened on the edges. After impression the signs and traces appear lighter then the ground-aquatint.
